    How do I get started?

    First and foremost, understand your constitution. This is your blueprint to health. How much of you errs toward Vata, toward Pitta and toward Kapha? Once you understand this, you can begin building a diet and lifestyle that either restores balance or maintains it.

    Food Guidelines

    Do you know your primary dosha and would like to know how to best nourish yourself? Here is a list of general guidelines as composed by the Ayurvedic Institute. What you'll find is a long list of foods divided into categories. For each food listed, it is either considered "favorable" for a dosha, meaning it will agree with your system, or it is considered "aggravating" for a dosha, meaning it most likely will not agree with your system. Remember, this is a loose structure and probably everybody experiences exceptions here and there. My best advice is to follow the guidelines generally. ​
